Working Groups
Working groups give members a practical place to coordinate software, standards, system integration, assurance, and ecosystem development.
Industry adoption depends on many connected layers. The Alliance organises focused groups so specialists can solve shared problems, avoid duplicated effort, and publish results that help the wider ecosystem.
Technical working groups
- CHERI C/C++ works on portable language extensions and behaviour, with links to relevant ISO C and C++ work.
- CHERI in system-on-chip integration covers system-on-chip requirements, integration choices, and levels of CHERI support.
- CHERI Linux maintains a prioritised roadmap for Linux support and mainline contribution.
- CHERI QEMU develops CHERI support in the QEMU emulator.
- CHERI Virtual Machines focuses on language runtimes and virtual machines for CHERI platforms.
- Rust + CHERI brings Rust’s language protections together with capability hardware.
- CHERI + Safety explores evidence and integration for safety standards and systems.
- CHERI for seL4 works on CHERI protection in the seL4 ecosystem.
- CHERI FreeRTOS coordinates common approaches to CHERI-based FreeRTOS systems.
- CHERI Zephyr adapts Zephyr for CHERI memory protection and compartmentalisation.
- Systems without memory-management units considers systems that share an address space without a memory-management unit.
- Operating-system support and portability supports consistent operating-system porting and documentation.
Programme and ecosystem groups
- Certification Program develops criteria and processes for CHERI Enabled certification.
- Marketing coordinates ecosystem communication and promotion.
- Promotion & Ambassador Program supports community outreach and the Ambassador programme.
- Repository Management sets contribution, maintenance, and quality practices for shared repositories.
Joining a group
Start with the group’s page and current resources. Membership may provide access to meetings and member activity, while some repositories and outputs are public. Bring a specific requirement, implementation result, issue, review, or maintained contribution.
