Governance

Alliance governance separates organisational oversight from focused member collaboration, with published policies setting clear boundaries for participation.

Clear governance allows organisations with different commercial, research, and public interests to collaborate with confidence. It defines who sets direction, how technical work is organised, and which rules apply.

Governing Board

The Governing Board provides organisational oversight and brings together representation from industry, research, and the wider security ecosystem. Its role includes stewardship of the Alliance’s mission, priorities, and responsible operation.

Board membership and organisational affiliations can change. The published board directory records the current representatives.

Working groups

Working groups organise focused technical and programme activity. Each group has a defined topic, participants, and lead or coordinating structure. Groups may develop roadmaps, software, guidance, events, certification material, or recommendations.

Working-group output does not automatically become a standard or a binding position. Its status should be stated by the group and reviewed through the appropriate process.

Members and participation

Members contribute through governance, working groups, events, reviews, and shared projects according to their membership and the rules of each activity. Public repositories and community events may also provide routes for non-members to contribute.

Policies and accountability

Alliance activity is governed by published legal and policy documents, including:

Participants should consult the current policy before contributing or using Alliance material. Questions about authority, conflicts, policy application, or formal records should be directed to the Alliance rather than inferred from a working-group discussion.

This structure lets technical experts move work forward while keeping organisational accountability and collaboration rules visible.
