Membership Benefits & Options
Participation can range from formal organisational membership to individual outreach and public open-source contribution, depending on the outcome sought.
Formal membership is intended for organisations and people that want to participate in the Alliance’s collaborative ecosystem. Other routes may suit someone who wants to contribute to a public project, attend an event, or support community outreach.
Benefits of membership
The Alliance describes the following areas of value:
- participation in technical and programme working groups;
- access to knowledge, resources, and implementation experience;
- connections with companies, research organisations, and experts;
- opportunities to help shape technical alignment and adoption priorities;
- visibility for relevant work and CHERI solutions;
- shared development, education, and promotion effort;
- support from a community working on related adoption challenges.
Benefits depend on active participation and on the rules and scope of each group. Membership does not grant product certification or permission to use restricted marks outside the trademark policy.
Routes to participate
- Organisational membership supports companies, research bodies, public organisations, and open-source organisations seeking sustained participation.
- Individual participation may suit people whose expertise or community role fits the available membership terms or Ambassador programme.
- The Ambassador programme is intended for people interested in education, content, events, and outreach.
- Public project contribution is available through the licence and governance of each open repository.
- Events and public resources offer a way to learn about CHERI before choosing a longer-term role.
Formal membership classes, fees, voting or governance rights, application checks, and contractual terms may change. Do not rely on a summary page for those details.
Before applying
Prepare a short description of your organisation, its interest in CHERI, the work it hopes to join, and the contribution it can make. Consult the current membership page and contact the Alliance for the applicable options and formal documents.
